Large English Drawing Instrument Set in original box.

This is an excellent example of an early twentieth century drawing set in good condition. This one was made around 1920 by W H Harling of 47 Finsbury Pavement, London.

The set is housed in a polished oak box which has brass hinges and a brass lock (no key). The box is beautifully constructed with finger joints on all corners. The inside of the lid is lined with faded blue silk which has the makers name printed on it. There is a worn area on the lining and the padding is showing through.

The box measures a huge 367mm wide x 136mm deep x 82mm high. It has an un-engraved brass plate on the lid and is in good condition although it ihas a few ink marks and stains (which I personally like)

The instruments are constructed from brass and steel and some of the pieces have ivory handles which are marked with the makers name. There are a couple of gaps in the set but most of the pieces present seem to be original.

There is a huge variety of additional items in the storage area under the top tray, these include, wooden set squares and triangles, french curves, erasers, bisecting and scale rules, ink pens, compasses, a miniature  screwdriver and a number of other clips and brass plates.

All of the instruments show wear, they have not been cleaned up as I prefer the 'original' look but they would clean up nicely if you wanted them to.
