The Parker VP was only produced for a couple of years from around 1961 to 1963. It was the forerunner of the hugely successful Parker 75. It featured the first ever rotating nib section to allow left and right handed users to gain the maximum use out of the pen.
Working examples of these pens are now incredibly rare because of an inherent design fault, the filler unit was designed to pull out of the section before it was filled with ink and replaced, the pli-glass filler unit had a long snout and this was easily damaged and broken off.
You will be pleased to hear that the filling snout on this pen is completely intact and original. The pen has been unused for the last 30 years and the only damage is a little bit of wear to the gold plate. The nib is solid gold and is a medium.
Most collectors and users of these pens prefer to leave the filler unit in the pen and fill it through the nib and section (same as most other pens). The pen works fine if filled like this and it avoids any risk of damage to the snout.
Condition: Grade A (What does this mean).
