Parker 21 Aerometric Fountain Pen and Propelling Pencil finished in Maroon.
The Parker 21 was introduced in 1948. The early Mk1 pens were distinguished by the lettering "Parker 21 Made in USA" on ther cap. The Mk11 pens appeared in 1951 with several different finishes and, unusually, a range of different clip styles.
This is a Mk11 21 Fountain Pen and Propelling Pencil set dating from the early fifties. They both have the inverted ridge clip mounted on a lustralloy cap. The barrels are finished in maroon. The fountain pen nib is a medium and writes with a lovely smooth line. The pencil takes standard 0.9mm leads.
Both pen and pencil are in overall excellent condition with only minor wear marks and very light scratches. The pen is fitted with the reliable aerometric (press bar) filling mechanism which has been fully serviced.
