This is an excellent example of the famous Watermans Ideal finished in Black Chased Hard Rubber. It was made in the USA around 1926. The chasing pattern on the cap and barrel is in excellent condition with very little wear. Similarly the imprint is deep and clear.
It has been fully restored and now works perfectly. It is a lever filler and is fitted with a broad nib that writes with a smooth line. The nib is very flexible and is a joy to write with.
The gold plating on the lever box is in excellent condition with no wear and the solid 9ct gold cap ring is in excellent condition. The cap ring is hallmarked;
and also has two initials engraved upon it;
