This is a splendid example of this rare and desirable fountain pen from the renowned English manufacturer Thomas De la Rue.
De La Rue produced the Onoto range and they enjoyed a reputation for being the highest quality British made pen. They were of a better quality than all their contemporaries including Conway Stewart and Parker.
The barrel and cap are finished in chased hard rubber, the chasing is in mint condition with virtually no wear at all. The imprint is clear and deep and the plating to the clip and cap rings is in super condition.
The pen is fitted with a piston filler which was unique amongst British manufacturers. It has been fully and professionally serviced and is now in perfect order.
The nib is a medium and writes with a wonderful smooth line.
