Description.

This is a fabulous example of an early Blackbird Self Filling Fountain Pen, this is the Bulb Filling version which was made in the UK and dates from around 1930.

The pen is made from Black Hard Rubber. The imprint on the barrel is deep and clear and the pen is in excellent condition throughout.

The filling system is simple but effective, the lower half of the barrel unscrews to reveal a latex rubber bulb. The nib is dipped in ink and the bulb is squeezed and released to draw ink into the upper part of the barrel. The rubber bulb has been replaced.

The Medium Semi Flexible nib is lovely, it writes smoothly with a nice line variation.

The pen has been fully serviced and is ready to write.
