Postage
Vintage Fountain Pens offers the following postage options;
For orders from customers within the UK (Including the Channel Islands and the IOM);
Standard Second Class - this is free but it only includes compensation up to £20.
Tracked 24 - for an additional cost of £3.80 you will get full tracking plus compensation up to £75 in the event of lost or damaged items.
Royal Mail Special Delivery - for an additional cost of £10.45 you will get full tracking plus compensation up to £750 in the event of lost or damaged items.
Courier - We offer a courier service provided by DHL. This is fully insured and gives you complete peace of mind. At £25 the service is expensive but extremely reliable. It is also a reliable alternative to Royal Mail.
For orders from customers outside the UK;
Europe
PDDP Zone (Postal Delivered Duties Paid). The following European countries have the Customs Fees, VAT and Handling charges applied by the Post Office at the point of purchase so you will have nothing further to pay:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia,Finland
France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg
Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden
Royal Mail International Tracked - this costs £16 and includes compensation up to £75. It also includes the new Customs Fees applied to all parcels sent from the UK into the above European countries, at present the Customs Fees includes a fixed fee of £5.50 plus 19% of the value of the item. The total cost of the postage and the applicable fees will be calculated at checkout.
Courier - We offer a courier service provided by DHL. This is fully insured and gives you complete peace of mind. At £85 the service is expensive but extremely reliable. The cost includes any customs and fees required.
All other non-PDDP European countries will pay any customs duties and fees at the point of entry, it is not collected as part of the postal cost. In this case the following postal options are available:
Royal Mail International Tracked - this costs £10.50 and includes compensation up to £75. At present any customs charges or Tariffs will be collected directly from the customer at the point of delivery, there is no option to pre-pay at the time of ordering. The Post Office is constantly updating its Customs procedures so this may change at any time. Any changes will be reflected on this page as soon as I have them.
Courier - We offer a courier service provided by DHL. This is fully insured and gives you complete peace of mind. At £75 the service is expensive but extremely reliable.
USA
Royal Mail International Tracked - this costs £14.70 and includes compensation up to £75. It also includes the new Import Tariffs applied to all parcels sent from the UK into the United States, at present the Customs Fees includes a fixed fee of £0.50 plus 11% of the value of the item. The total cost of the postage and the applicable fees will be calculated at checkout.
Courier - We offer a courier service provided by DHL. This is fully insured and gives you complete peace of mind. At £60 the service is expensive but extremely reliable.
The Rest of the World
Royal Mail International Tracked - this costs £13.75 and includes compensation up to £75. At present any customs charges or Tariffs will be collected directly from the customer at the point of delivery, there is no option to pre-pay at the time of ordering. The Post Office is constantly updating its Customs procedures so this may change at any time. Any changes will be reflected on this page as soon as I have them.

Please note that we do not post to most Southern African and South American Countries. We have lost many parcels destined for countries in these areas and it is no longer viable for us to offer this service. Contact us directly if you need assistance.
Certificates of posting are always obtained and the tracking numbers (for DHL, Special Delivery and International Tracked) will be emailed to you on request.
